Owners of retail property have been hit hard by the pandemic. This will affect the pace of change in the retail market, resulting in a need for adaptation of existing spaces and a new approach to design. Reesco Group places a high priority on working with the retail sector and has expanded its area of specialisation by creating Reesco Retail, a team with extensive experience in planning and carrying out redevelopments of various types of retail facilities.
“Although the retail real estate market will change, we believe that shopping centres will see a revival. Whenever we visit shopping centres, we see the difficult situation that the industry currently finds itself in. Many shopping centres in Poland, on account of their age and level of exploitation, were already badly in need of refurbishment or even total redevelopment,” says Artur Winnicki, CEO of Reesco Group. “We have seen an increased demand for experienced partners able to carry out the entire investment process. We have already completed several retail projects and now we will further develop this area of specialisation with our new dedicated team,”he adds.
The creation of Reesco Retail within Reesco Group is a response to the needs of owners, managers and tenants. A key task of the new team will be to analyse redevelopment opportunities and propose the best solutions for the design process, valuation and completion of the construction works. The Reesco Retail team will operate on three levels: from adapting the space and carrying out fit-out works for tenants to redevelopment of the facility for the landlord, as well as the construction of retail parks and convenience centres.
The Reesco Retail team will be headed by Lucyna Śliż and Tomasz Tylec, who will combine their extensive experience gained working for consulting agencies, representing retail chains and providing general contracting services for the retail market.
“Reesco has developed over 700,000 sqm of office, retail and hotel space in over 600 projects. We have expertise in planning and executing major commercial real estate redevelopments, which has enabled usto create a new team focused on this market. We have excellent project managers and engineers who will use their prior experience to win new contracts and work on projects located all over Poland”

“The creation of Reesco Retail is a natural step in the evolution of the company. Within the office sector, we specialise inthorough process development, searching for quality and cost-optimised solutions that meet our clients’ expectations. For the last 2 years, we have been carrying out a very large redevelopment of the Bonarka Shopping Centre in Kraków. The scope of work already completed includes approximately 8,900 sqm of redevelopment, including the creation of about 1,500 sqm of new GLA. We know how to execute multi-phase projects like this, which is why we now want to expand our services in that sector”
